Tests

As part of the Centre's research capabilities for problem solving, we conduct the following tests:

Laboratory Tests:

• Water content of oil (Karl Fisher)
• Solubility of water in oil
• Dissolved gas analysis (DGA)
• Liquid conductivity measurement (LCM)
• Moisture-generating and gas-generating capacities of service oils, revealing the level of oil contamination by aging by-products (a new test developed at Monash)
• Degree of Polymerisation (DP) of paper insulation
• Water content of paper (Karl Fischer)

Field Tests:

• Transformer moisture and temperature monitoring
• Frequency response analysis (FRA)
• Thermal Imaging (in the near future)
